day 34 of 365

Behold the great and powerful Lothrop Bible, published in 1605.

This ancient volume gets a lot of attention for its history and what is on its pages, but I wanted to capture its magical qualities. People (religious, spiritual, and atheist alike) are drawn to it like a magnet, in order to stand in its presence. Now you can say you've experienced the magic, too.

  1. A beautiful photograph, the colour, composition and slightly grainy feel really work well here. I'm not a religious chap but I can certainly respect a book of that age and its value.

  3. Beautiful shot. Now, I love old books, but that would take some beating. It certainly looks magical.

  5. Ohhhh, now you have my undivided attention. Old books are so exquisite, the smell, the wisdom, the entire essence of an old book and especially one of such magnitude... magical indeed! Awesome photo! (I'm such a rookie with taking photos I don't even know photo terminology yet, awesome will have to suffice for the time being!) :-)
