day 261 of 365

I was a doll girl growing up -- I had a wonderful dollhouse that my father made for me and I'd play for hours, inhabiting doll-land.  The dollhouse fell to pieces years ago, but I still have all my dollhouse furniture and the family of dolls that lived in the house.  It was a multicultural family -- half of them were 1920s Americans, and half were Mexican farmers from the turn of the century.  I don't remember how I acquired them but they were one big happy family.

This is a peek through the window of the dollhouse at the Pilgrim Monument Museum in Provincetown.  I could have stayed there happily all afternoon, living again in doll-land.

You can see more of my doll and toy photos here.

  2. Thank you for sharing this, I love your photo and I too loved dolls. I don't remember ever having many, nor a dollhouse, but I remember the one doll which I loved immensely. What awesome memories!
